How to measure your dog to know its harness size?
Before buying the harness for your dog, you will have to know its exact size. For that you will need the following:
- The model which is your dog
- A measuring tape
- Treats for your pet to behave well during the measurement
- Paper and pen
- a little patience
Once you have everything you need, it's time to get to work.
Step 1
Take your dog to a Quiet room where you don't have many distractions. Show him his snack or treats , so he knows it's there but doesn't grab it right away. This way you can keep it still and with a tense posture, this is the most convenient position to measure it.
Step 2
The neck measurement. Take the measuring tape and pass it around neck , where you normally put your collar, without tightening too much. If you can put two fingers under the tape it means the measurement is perfect. Record this figure as your neck measurement.
Step 3
Chest measurement . Now do the same, but around his chest at the widest point (usually just behind his front legs). The tape should fit snugly around the chest without being too tight. Again, if you can get two fingers under the tape that is the ideal measurement. Write this number down as chest measurement .
Step 4
The measure of the length. Take the measuring tape and place it over your dog's back, measuring from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. This measurement should be taken from the bottom of the neck to the point where the tail joins the body (not the tip). Record this number as the measurement of the length.

Reward your dog and give him treats for being good! Everything is now done so that your dog can show off his new harness, and the most important thing is that your dog is comfortable and safe with it .
